A good night tonight an a happy start into the New Year to all of you! I will have yummy Barbecue in my hostel and a few drinks tonight. I really hope there will be some nice fireworks somewhere here in Perth! :-)

I don't have Christmas this year but I whish all of you a merry one anyway! :-) I will be on the train to Perth by tomorrow afternoon and neither me nor my parents feel like having some "holy celebration" tonight. It is just far too unreal here in Downunder. Hot weather, sun sun sun - definiteley something else than at home.



The Australians are mad about Christmas, of course. Nothing is different from our Christmas here - except of the season. Santa Clauses, Christmastrees with lights and glitter everywhere. Kitsch rulez, that's all I can say to that. They make it nearly better than the Americans... ;-)

Even if I have already been there in June with Brit and Paul, I decided to bring my parents to the stunning Great Ocean Road and the Grampians Nationalpark. We did not do exactly the same things as I did before so the second visit was well worth it for me, too.

We had a great day on the Victoria coast and in Port Fairy where we stayed for a night. We stayed in the Grampians for two nights afterwards. Would not be a problem to stay here for a week or more – lots of walking trecks to do. And - I finally found it: the perfect backpacker hostel! Go Grampians YHA – best hostel I've ever stayed in!

We will go „back to civilization“ tomorrow – Adelaide will be our next stop. And on Sunday we will catch the Indian Pacific to Perth. Don't say it! „Ups, I did it again!“ ... or so... ;-)
